Monday: Today we had a video conference with Corinne from RIDBC and Gill joined us for that. We made some Christmas decorations and sang Christmas Carols. Gill also brought a little chariot around to make it easier for Amarina to be independent. Amarina can sit in it with a lap belt on and push herself around. She loves it because she no longer needs to shuffle around on her backside.
Tuesday: WEIGH IN DAY: Today Amarina was weighed and gained 470 grams bringing her weight up to 10.68 kilo's. We went to town today to get the food for Christmas day and the supermarket was so busy. I am glad we didn't eave it until tomorrow as I would hate to see the shops then.
Wednesday: CHRISTMAS EVE: Today we had a fairly quiet day. The kids played outside in the yard for a bit, had a bath and then settled down early in anticipation of Santa visiting. Kye and Amarina sprinkled Reindeer Magic Dust on the front yard so as then the reindeers knew where to land. Kye fell asleep early and we were able to pick up their puppy abut 8pm. Amarina was still awake and loved the puppy even patting him which surprised us what with her Tactile Sensitivity.
Thursday: CHRISTMAS DAY: Kye awoke at 5.30am and saw that Santa had been. He was so excited but we also wanted him to be quiet until Amarina woke up. It was cool this morning so we took Kye out to check the bathroom where we had the puppy sleep last night. Kye took about 5 minutes to realise that there was actually a puppy there and couldn't stop playing with him. He has called him Deedia and loves him. Amarina woke up and so the kids could see what Santa had brought them plus open other presents from us and people around the town. My parents came over for lunch so more presents to open before we sat down to eat. All in all a very busy day but very enjoyable for all.
Friday: BOXING DAY: After our busy day yesterday, we all sat around relaxing today. The weather is warming up also so it was a good day to be inside relaxing. This morning Kye, Amarina and Jamie took Deedia for a walk and Kye was so proud of himself doing that. This after they played with some more of their toys and just had fun overall.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and we remember those who lost their lives in the 2004 tsunami disaster. To everyone have a safe and happy New Year. Please hug your loved ones and remember those no longer with us.
